I like the doctors and the nurses/assistants are all great as well but I don't like having to pay a refraction charge of $40 which insurance doesn't cover and never has and if one goes to an optometrist for a script there is not a refraction charge. I declined the script as the doctor said there was only a 5% change in vision and my current glasses are working well and when I declined a script at past opthamologist's office there was no refraction charge and yet this office still insists the charge is valid. If valid then why doesn't insurance ever pay? If it were medically necessary then I would think insurance would have to pay. And why don't optometrists charge for such? And why not give the choice to the patient up front if they want refraction or not? If it were just the doctors and nurses/assistants I would give them a 5 star rating but because of the billing practice I want to give it a 2 or 3 star rating but will relent and give overall as 4 stars.
