Retina Vitreous Associates

So I came in today at 10:50am to bring my mother in to get her eye patch removed. Her appointment was at 11am. She just had eye surgery the day before with Dr. Chasan on March 31st. When we were called back by the medical assistant she was really dismissive and was rushing. As she removed my mother’s eye patch she didn’t clean it thoroughly. I asked if she could finish cleaning the gunk off my mom’s eyes and she said oh they can finish that in the back. Very stand off ish. She also told my mother she needed to use a needle to get a pressure point in her eye and my mom got nervous about hearing the word needle my mom has anxiety so when she heard that it made her nervous so she said to let the doctor do it because my mother was fighting against her. First off my mother just literally had her eye pocked and prodded at the day before and you’re telling her you have to stick her with a needle. My mom was not fighting her she had the reaction anyone else would just blinking. As we were called back to the doctor’s office we were the last ones out. Dr. Amin did not clean my mother’s eye the rest of the way. They were also rude and very rushy. As my mom was explaining to her about the medical assistant before about having to stick a needle in her eye she dismissed my mother and said you probably misheard her this is like a pen and I said actually no that’s exactly what she said. My mom says she will not be coming back. She prefers the Merrillville location and Dr. Chasan and his staff better because Dr. Chasan and his staff has the best beside manners and I was expecting the same common courtesy that was shown by his staff at Dr. Amins Valparaiso location. That however was not the case.
