My son with autism was referred by his pediatrician here to check his vision. I could not make it so my mom took him to his first appointment. I called in the morning before Ivan's appointment to make sure everything would go smooth. The person answering was very nice and gave me her email so that I can email the picture of the insurance card which I did.My mom came back home and reported that Dr. Sarah Duff did his new patient exam. They dilated his eyes and looked in each eye. Dr. Duff rushed the whole appointment, not answering any questions. My mom asked basic questions like when to wear, how long to wear, what eye conditions he has and her response was "we arent going to worry about that right now." We got no guidance. No examination to try and get my son to read any letters. This is a pediatric office and there was no care for my son. Dr. Duff was in a hurry and left the room without even saying anything and my mom still had questions to understand everything because this was our first specialist to evaluate my son. Then the front desk lady continued this poor treatment by not acknowledging my mom when the exam was over. No one told my mom who to check out with, they just left her in the room. This same checkout lady was the one that was rude to my mom on check in. When my mom gave her the name of the lady I emailed in the morning, her response was "oh that worker is barely checking in". How? When that worker answered my call at 7:30 am and my sons appointment was around noon. If you want a Dr. to sit in the room and explain anything to you do not book with Dr. Duff. And both prescriptions are so strong and the exact same rx number for both eyes "just to see if he will wear glasses." I work in a medical field and our office would never treat patients this way. No information provided on the first visit.
