I sent 20 pages of medical records ahead of my visit. His first question was “why are you here?” — despite my C3-C4 disc bulge and right arm pain being on page one of what I sent. Instead of addressing that, he interrogated me on unrelated personal details: why I was on disability without a neurologist (as I just MOVED HERE from cross country and he was my first stop because i can’t move my right shoulder or arm) asked me where I was going to “end up” since I’d relocated cross-country a few times for work and family. When I mentioned 20+ years working in Hollywood, he shot back “well, where are you gonna live?” I doubt he’d have asked a man in the same chair any of this. It felt like a woman with a real medical issue getting cross-examined instead of treated. He questioned my federal disability TO MY FACE without even reading a thing. Intake involves circling symptoms on a laminated form with a shared whiteboard marker — a form that looked like hundreds of hands had touched it, “sanitized” with a tissue wipe. No AC, no airflow in the room. It was hard to even breathe in there. Dr. Geraldi-Read your patients’ charts, treat them with basic respect, and get some ventilation.
