I feel bad that Dr. Hargrove's only review is a 1-star review. And frankly, reading it, I can understand the reason for the disappointment. But in fairness to anybody who knows how busy Dr. Hargrove's plastic surgery practice is, I have to admit, I think he took more time than many doctors would: If you take any type of aspirin and/or blood thinner before a procedure, the staff, as well as the doctor could have said, "NO" and left it at that. In this case, Dr. Hargrove actually took the time to chat with you. I know most doctors would have the front staff send the patient home, end of story... Now, to my experience with Dr. Hargrove. He's a quiet, understated person in general. What some might take as a reserved or curt disposition, please understand that he's an outstanding health practitioner with phenomenal outcomes. He's done quite a few procedures on my face, and I see him for my eyes, too. I've been his patient for over 10 years. He's low-key and kind. While I'm not here to defend him or apologize for the one-star review he has received, know that the one-star review is not indicative of him as a well-regarded practitioner in the community. Please refrain from taking any blood thinners before a procedure. BIG no-no, and receptionists or med techs have every right to turn you around and out of the office.

Good doctor, but a little rude and condescending. I will be changing doctors.

Reading 20/20 with my right eye after cataract surgery and new enhanced lens. I am very happy. Dr. Kelty advised me and followed through on the lens he felt was best for me. Wonderful to see well. Thank you Dr. Kelty.

Yesterday was the first time I met Dr Keener,he is very polite,pleasant and has a wonderful “chairside” manner!! He explained everything to me about what is happening with my eye and took all of the worry away, I am a Type 1 Diabetic and was afraid I was having a hemorrhage,was also on day 3 of headache,same side. He said the headache was a migraine (although I didn’t have the aura or anything I normally do prior to migraines)told me what to do for ruptured area in my eye and will follow up with him next week. Very pleasant ladies who work with him as well, all were very pleasant and calming!!

Very friendly and professional people working at Graystone Eye in Hickory! Dr. Chang took time to explain to me the things that were going on with my eyes and different procedures that can be done to help me!!
