Highest of praise to Dr German and her incredible care for my uveitis. She is fantastic, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I couldn’t ask for a better provider during the time I had her. I need to give that disclaimer because my grievances do not lay with the provider, but the office staff and business end of things. I am going through a very sensitive death right now and within an hour their office had called and texted to confirm my upcoming appointment. Totally normal and expected, though the voice mail was a little off. Then a receive an email (never contacted previously via email by them) stating that my appointment has been cancelled proactively due to the balance I owe…the one I was just notified of having, less than an hour ago. I’ve received nasty voicemails left by the front end staff before because it’s hard to get ahold of me (at that time I worked overnights and I expressed that every time I came in to try to explain). Doesn’t excuse the nasty message. And now when I asked to speak to someone to report this, they barred me speaking to the office manager u less I make a payment. Which circles back to my recent loss—death is expensive. They don’t know about this, I get it, but to come at someone so aggressively when you don’t know what they’re going through? I work in healthcare and I would NEVER treat someone the way they treat me. I can only imagine they do the same for others. Awful staff, awful polices. Refusing to see and treat my uncontrolled autoimmune disease because I haven’t made a payment towards my $160 balance is insane.
