Deep Blue Retina

Was very thorough and explained why I was seeing a smudge when I looked at things with my left eye.. he gave me a cortisone shot in my eye (it didn’t hurt). They numbed it with lidocaine gel.. I go back in two weeks to see how it’s doing at that time.. thank you… and they made an appointment the same day that I called about it.

My overall experience was excellent. It was jam-packed with patients, but the wait was pleasant. The staff members were very courteous and kind! I will recommend it to others!!!

I love Deep Blue Retina there like St. Jude people come miles to be seen. But they are to sloooooow I got there at 11:00am and it was after 3:00pm when I left you have to dam there take a lunch they are GOOD but to slow..

After a very scary macular retinal detachment, Dr. Calzada was a calm voice of assurance and professionalism. He explained everything clearly (even to an inquisitive old physics professor) and set up my surgery for the very next day. The procedure went flawlessly from my perspective, and the Day 1 post-op examination was very encouraging, with Dr. Calzada again taking time to answer all my questions. If you're looking for an extremely capable, experienced professional who really cares about your vision, Dr. Calzada is your guy.

Routine visits last 3-plus hours. It's terrible to get someone to drive you home because it eats 2 people's whole day.The care is fine, but the amount of time waiting makes me want to find a new doctor.

He did not even do my post surgery follow up. I saw a Resident/Fellow who was incompetent. I ended up with a rupture in my eye, according to Calzada it was unavoidable. I believe if he had done my post-op the issue would have been discovered and dealt with properly. It is now almost a year later and the vision is worse in that eye than when I started treatments.
