Choosing a competent surgeon is a daunting task, and choosing a competent cosmetic surgeon even more so, since the main purpose of cosmetic surgery is not to fix a serious health issue but to improve one’s appearance, hence the tolerance for side effects is much lower. Additionally, many competent cosmetic surgeons are over-priced and not affordable to common mortals. Some charge absurd fees that I would not pay out of principle even if I had all the money in the world. Like some other reviewers I was aiming for a surgeon with 4.5-5 star ratings and not too many bad reviews that would send me into a panic mode (best surgeon is only human, plus some people have unreasonable expectations that might be the cause of bad reviews). By the time I found Dr Alizadeh I almost threw in the towel (i.e., I searched for a looooooong time). I did a brow lift and upper and lower blepharoplasty and it is hard to find adequate words to describe the amazing experience, which is one reason why I procrastinated so long to do this review! I feel that no matter what I say I will under-rate Dr Alizadeh and his team. Everyone (from patient coordinator, nurse assistant, anesthesiology team and Dr AK), is not only super professional, but also caring, kind, compassionate, warm and friendly. So much so that I did not feel like a patient but like family. The surgery was flawless, with zero complications (minus some post-operative nausea which is normal), to the point that the very next day I felt I could go on a sprint! Probably because I was so euphoric that it went so well! Now I am about 6 months post-op and loving the results. Scars from the brow lift were essentially invisible at about 3 months post-op. I did not even want to do a lateral brow lift initially because I thought it would make me look angry, but Dr Alizadeh was of a different opinion and I am so glad I listened to him because it made the greatest positive difference in my appearance! Several months after the surgery I decided to do a MACS facelift as well, and I planned to do it with Dr Alizadeh. When I told him about it, he said I should go to Belgium instead, to Dr Tonnard & Verpaele who invented the MACS lift (and with it revolutionized cosmetic surgery), as it would be more convenient given that I reside in Europe. That tells you something about Dr Alizadeh’s character: he looks after what is best for the person, not what is best for his bank account. Check out his Mission Restore Non-Profit project and that will tell you some more. I did end up going to Belgium and Dr Tonnard’s comment to Dr Alizadeh’s work was one word: PERFECT. I wish I could give Dr Alizadeh and his team more than 5 stars, they certainly deserve the highest rating!
