Dear Aesthetic Care,
I received a mail piece from you in my mailbox today.
Please do not send me information through US mail. The choices women (and men) make to improve their appearance is a PRIVATE matter. You are exposing them to talk, rumors, and anxiety about their privacy.
Some clients make changes just to enhance themselves, but others suffer from conditions that bring them ridicule and find it in their best interest to keep the changes they are making to their physical appearance private.
I am already bombarded by your nearly daily emails. I am horrified that you are sending these items, as a medical “spa” aka “plastic surgery place” in the open in a card that is not in an envelope, fold over card, or in any way hidden to protect the privacy of your clients and potential clients.
I believe you have taken a bad choice in turning to the physically allowing a person (mail carrier) to place from their hand to the hand of a client to whom they can make a joke, give an awkward glare, or start talk about them after looking at what they are handing them. My carrier said, “getting some work done are you?” I am in a small town. Who will look at me differently or question me next?
This open card has the clients NAME written directly on the front, fully visible to anyone that sees it, implying they are getting some work done.
This is borderline hippa violation and you are exposing people to potential ridicule and violating their privacy. Please do not ever send any physical advertisement to my address again.
